Skyport Tycoon: Don't Wreck Your Airport in the First Hour

April 12, 2026 · Lukas Bergmann

The trap in Skyport Tycoon is that the early game is easy enough to be careless, and then your bad decisions calcify into a cramped mess. The single most useful habit is leaving room to expand before you actually need it.

Cluster your gates near amenities so passengers don't have to trek across the terminal, and keep staff paths short. Congestion is the silent killer here — a well-laid-out small airport runs smoother than a sprawling badly-planned one.

When you unlock new terminals, resist the urge to fill every square immediately. Build in walkways and breathing room. It feels wasteful at first and pays off enormously once passenger volume climbs.

Finally, keep an eye on staffing before you keep an eye on expansion. A shiny new gate you can't service just creates queues. Grow the airport at the pace your staff can actually handle.
