Learning to Drift Properly in Nitro District

Plenty of people bounce off Nitro District because their first races feel messy. The trick is that drifting isn't optional flair — it's how you both take corners and build up boost. Once that clicks, everything else falls into place.

Start by switching to the button controls if you're using tilt. Tilt looks cool but it's harder to be precise, and precision is what corners demand. Tap the drift just before you enter a turn, not in the middle of it.

Every drift fills your boost meter, so chaining them through a series of corners lets you rocket down the next straight. The best drivers barely touch the brakes; they read the track and let drifts do the slowing for them.

Learn the shortcuts too. A few tracks have hidden alleys that shave real time, and they're much easier to hit once you're comfortable steering mid-drift. Give it a few races before you judge the handling — it clicks fast once it clicks.
