Big Bass Bonanza
Big Bass Bonanza is one of those games I picked up expecting to delete within an hour and ended up keeping for weeks. It's a casual fishing game built around simple tap-and-hold casting, where the whole appeal is the little rhythm you fall into: line out, wait, reel, repeat. The art style is cheerful and slightly exaggerated, all chunky fish and rippling cartoon water.
Controls are about as friendly as it gets. You tap to cast, and a gentle timing meter decides how well your line lands. Reeling in a bigger fish gives a bit more resistance, so there's a soft skill curve without anything stressful. I liked that it never punished me for playing one-handed on the tram.
What kept me coming back was the low-pressure loop and the sound design — the plops and splashes are weirdly relaxing. It's not a deep game and it doesn't pretend to be, but as a five-minute palate cleaner between heavier titles, Big Bass Bonanza does exactly what it sets out to do.
