Adventure
Hollow Lantern
★★★★★ 4.5
Hollow Lantern is a hand-drawn adventure that leans hard into atmosphere. You explore an old mansion room by room, tapping objects, solving environmental puzzles, and slowly piecing together what happened here. It's the kind of game best played with headphones at night.
The puzzles are logical rather than obtuse — I only got properly stuck once, and the answer made sense in hindsight. Everything is controlled by tapping and occasionally dragging, so it's very approachable. There's no fail state, so you can just wander and soak it in.
It's short, maybe four or five hours, but I didn't mind. Hollow Lantern is a tight, memorable experience that doesn't overstay its welcome, and the ending stuck with me longer than I expected.
